Bathroom affair led to alleged liquor bottle assault

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police in Myrtle Beach are working to piece together the details surrounding the reported assault in a Myrtle Beach bathroom overnight.

The incident report from Myrtle Beach Police says the witnesses, victim and suspect were all intoxicated when police arrived at the Westgate Hotel on the 400 block of South Ocean Boulevard Wednesday morning in response to a disturbance.

One witness claimed to see nothing at all, while the other noted that they did notice the victim, a male, had entered the bathroom with a female around the same time they exited the bathroom area, but they too did not witness any assault.

The suspect, according to the report, filled the officers in on what happened, saying he entered to bathroom to find his wife offering sexual favors to the victim. The suspect then reportedly struck the victim with a liquor bottle and ran away.

Police found blood and glass shards on the floor of the women's restroom. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a severe laceration and received stitches. At this time, the suspect has not been charged.
