NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Authorities are investigating after a middle-aged man was pulled from the water in the North Myrtle Beach.
Pat Dowling, spokesman for the City of North Myrtle Beach, says that shortly after 3 p.m. a man that appears to be in his fifties was found floating on his stomach in the area of Eighth Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach.
The man was retrieved from the water, placed in an ambulance and transported to the hospital. The man did have a pulse, but his exact condition is unknown at this time.
Dowling adds that the investigation is continuing to determine if the man entered the water in the area of Eighth Avenue North where he was found floating or if he entered the water at some other point of the beach and floated to that area.
The identity of the man is unknown, and authorities urge anyone who may know anything about this near drowning victim to contact the Department of Public Safety as soon as possible.
