MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Officials are investigating a car theft that happened at a beach access parking lot Saturday evening.
The Myrtle Beach police responded to a call Saturday at 9 p.m. in reference to a burglary at 200 block of 48th Avenue North.
According to the police report, the victim found the front driver's side window broken when she returned to her car around 9 p.m. after going to the beach.
Police say the suspect is still on the run. Inside the car, the suspect stole the victim's beach bag along with her purse containing money, driver's license, credit cards, checkbook and her social security card, according to police.
The victim stated that she covered the items with a beach towel before leaving and she didn't notice anyone around her car before going to the beach, according to the report.
