MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Ron Jon's Beer & Burger, just off of Hwy 501, underwent a routine inspection last Monday. According to DHEC's report, Ron Jon's scored an 88, an 'A' rating, and required a follow-up inspection.
DHEC returned this Monday for the follow-up inspection. According to the new report, the inspector found the same nine violations. Ron Jon's scored an 88, a rating once again in the follow-up.
The follow-up inspection report shows a repeat of the same the maintenance issues, like repainting the floor in the storage room, and replacing broken lights. Other violations call for cleaning the floors, door frames, shelves, bar counters, and the inside of the coolers.
Christopher Wallace has lunch at Ron Jon's at least twice a week.
"I would definitely keep them at an 'A' rating. They go above and beyond every time I come in here," said Wallace. He says Ron Jon's passes his own personal inspection. "What I look at is the food service, quality, the actual dining facility presentation."
One of Ron Jon's owners says they're still working on fixing everything DHEC noted on the follow-up report and feels the burger joint is worthy of its consecutive a rating.
Wallace's lunch buddy, Chris Wallace seems to agree. "Good service. Good food. Prices are good, so we just keep coming back."
T.G.I Friday in North Myrtle Beach had a routine inspection this week and the restaurant also has an 'A' rating on its door. DHEC's report shows T.G.I. Friday scored a 95 and was cited with four violations.
The inspector noted the prep sink and floor drains should be cleaned and ordered the staff to fix broken lights and repair the filter on the ventilator hood.
