Woman charged for theft from employer's safe

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - One janitorial service employee is facing charges after video shows her allegedly siphoning money for a locked safe.

Major Carlos Raines, spokesman for the Florence Police Department, tells WMBF News that 41-year-old Sharon Denise Green has been charged with grand larceny.

Video surveillance from inside the building Ms. Green was contracted by a janitorial services company to clean confirmed that between April 3 and June 25, she had illegally taken $5,500 from a secured safe in an area of the building she was not granted access to.

Raines says Ms. Green attained the combination to the safe from a desk drawer.

Its unknown right now what became of the money, but Raines adds that the court could mandate Ms. Green to pay restitution.
