MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Fire and Myrtle Beach Police Department have cleared the scene of a car crash near Grande Dunes Boulevard Wednesday morning, reopening Kings Highway.

According to motorists in the area, the northbound lanes of 17 Business were closed just beyond 82nd Ave. North as crews worked to clear a multi-vehicle crash.

Myrtle Beach Fire reports the crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. and involved injuries with at least one entrapment, but have not commented on the extent of the injuries to the victims.

Capt. David Knipes with MBPD confirms three cars were involved in the crash and four people were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Traffic was diverted to Grande Dunes Boulevard from Kings Hwy, and drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible. The southbound lanes remained open, but traffic slowed due to onlooker delay.
