Police: Facebook enables then disables burglars

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The Anderson County Sheriff's Office has arrested two burglary suspects Wednesday for burglarizing several homes in the community.

The alleged suspects, Candance Marie Landreth, 39, of Piedmont, SC and Robert Calvin Landreth, 44, of Greenville, SC used Facebook to burglarize the homes of their friends who posted on the social media website they were going out of town, said the ACSO.

Both Landreths have broken into homes from Williamston to Powdersville in the Anderson County area for the last two months, said the sheriff's office.

A surveillance image of the suspects from a Gamestop video game store in Greenville, SC was posted on the ACSO Facebook page. Within hours the suspects were identified via Facebook and investigators were able to arrest them, according to ACSO.

The suspected duo is charged with burglary 1st and 2nd degrees and grand larceny.  They are being held at the Anderson County Detention Center where they will await their bond hearing.
