Missing NJ 5-year-old found safe in Florence

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A boy missing from New Jersey was reportedly found in Florence County Tuesday.

The AP is reporting that a 5-year-old boy missing from central New Jersey since Friday was found with the grandfather that police believe abducted him last weekend.

The boy is safe, but 50-year-old Morris "Tommy" Lundy is set to faces kidnapping, child endangerment and interference with child custody charges, Assistant Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri told the Associated Press Tuesday afternoon.

The 5-year-old grandson does suffer from asthma.

A man by the name of Morris Lundy from Princeton, NJ was booked into the Florence County Detention Center around 12:21 p.m. Tuesday, and his charge was listed as detainer.

The AP says Lundy is awaiting an extradition hearing and may return to New Jersey as early as Wednesday.
