Police: Homeless man assaults resident at home

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) The Myrtle Beach police are investigating an assault that happened early Sunday morning at a resident's house.

The incident happened Sunday at 2:30 a.m. around third Avenue North.

According to a police report, the alleged suspect is described as a homeless white male who goes by the name of Scott. The last time he was seen he was wearing black shorts and a black shirt.

The victim tells police the suspect walked into his home and began striking him in the face and the victim punched the suspect in self defense.

The suspect fled the area before police arrived. The victim was treated by EMS on the scene for minor laceration and abrasions to his face.
