FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Investigators in Florence County have charged an Olanta man with assault after they say he shot at a man over a game of dice.

Captain Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, says 25-year-old Anthony Quinn Nero of Olanta was apprehended on Friday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and three counts of possession of a weapon during a violent felony.

Nunn says those charges stem from an incident that occurred on April 7, when Nero was reportedly playing a game of dice at a night club on Eugene Street in Lake City. During the game, Nero fired a handgun five times, striking one victim twice in the foot and two additional victims, all of whom had to seek medical treatment.

A traffic stop on Friday lead to the discovery of Nero's outstanding warrants. Nunn says he was released from the Florence County Detention Center on Saturday on a $90,000 surety bond.
