MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police have arrested one man after they say he cut his friend on the arm and shredded his bicycle seat following an argument over a mutual female friend.
The incident report obtained from Myrtle Beach Police says officers responded to the Withers Swash Park area around 8 a.m. Monday to reports of an assault.
The victim told police a man he knew had approached him and began arguing with him for having a conversation with a female friend. At that time the man, identified as 44-year-old Christopher Michael Arbogast, pulled out a knife and allegedly cut the victim on his arm.
Arbogast is then said to have cut the victim's bicycle seat before the victim walked away to call police.
Arbogast was located on Withers Swash Drive about an hour after the incident and transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail where he was charged with assault and battery and malicious injury.
The knife was located on him during a search, according to the arrest report.
Court officials say Arbogast appeared in Myrtle Beach Municipal court Tuesday where he was found guilty on those charges. Arbogast is now in the custody of J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
