Calling all future lifeguards

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Want to prepare your kids for the work force and help your city in the long run?

The North Myrtle Beach's Junior Lifeguards will hold a cleanup of the city's major beach accesses such as Main Street and Sea Mountain Highway to name a few on Saturday morning. So bring your sun screen and make this a family affair.

The event will take place on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at 7th Avenue South.  The City's Junior Lifeguard's goal is to train young people in acquiring the necessary skills they need to become a certified ocean lifeguard when they become old enough for a summer job.

This method will promote local jobs and reduce the city's expenses each year to not training ocean lifeguards outside of the area.

For more information on the event and the Junior Lifeguard program in general, please call PSO Lifeguard Coordinators Monty Reed or Donnie Constransitch at (843) 281-3820 or email them at or
