DILLON, SC (WMBF) - Dillon High School had two players selected during Tuesday's Major League Baseball Draft.
First was pitcher Jamie Callahan to the Boston Red Sox in the 2nd round, followed by outfielder Kwinton Smith in the 14th by the Texas Rangers.
Smith is a two sport stand out for the Wildcats, starring in both football and baseball. He has already signed a letter of intent to play football at South Carolina in the fall.
Callahan and Smith become the first Dillon players to be selected in the MLB Draft since L.A Owens was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2006.
