MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Police in Myrtle Beach have now released the name of a man charged with robbing a woman while claiming to have a knife.
A report from Myrtle Beach Police says the suspect, described as a black male in this early fifties, was standing outside the victim's residence on Fisher Drive around 6:35 p.m.
As the victim got out of her car, the suspect 52-year-old Richard Lynn Board, asked her if she lived there and if she knew 'Jack.' The victim claims Board then approached her and placed his hand on her shoulder asking her not to scream, and threatening to cut her.
Board then asked for money, and the report says the victim gave him around $50 in cash. Board then reportedly told the victim to place her keys and cell phone in her car and not to watch him run away.
The report says the victim never saw a knife.
A report from Myrtle Beach Police shows a man staying in the Red Roof Inn on South Kings Highway reported he woke up to find Board had fled from the hotel with his vehicle and wallet.
Shortly after the victim met with police, the armed robbery on Fisher Drive was reported with a suspect matching Board's description. Board was discovered with the male victim's vehicle 10 minutes later, and the car was returned to its owner.
Board has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, and a surety bond has been set at $200,000.
