Red Cross assists Horry Co family after house fire

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) An Horry County family is being assisted by the Red Cross after a morning fire severely damaged their mobile home.

Leslie Yancey, spokesperson for Horry County Fire Rescue, says fire crews responded to a single wide mobile home fire on Gemini Drive in Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park at 11:49 a.m. Thursday.

Assistant Fire Chief Justin Gibbons says 50 percent of the mobile home was on fire when fire fighters arrived. He adds that there is heavy damage to the home.

Yancey says no one was inside at the time of the fire. But neighbors tell WMBF News that a family of six live in the residence.
