FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) Two Darlington men have been charged with grand larceny after fleeing from police in Florence in a reported stolen car.

Captain Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, says officer responded to a call concerning a vehicle theft in progress in the Syracuse Community on Tuesday.

Deputies found 21-year-old Marvin Tayron Mack and 28-year-old Jvon Moses, both of the Darlington area, which fled from police in the reported stolen car into a wooded area off Piney Grove Road, Nunn said.

After a short pursuit and foot chase, both Mack and Moses were taken into custody and charged with two counts of grand larceny, for the theft of that vehicle on Tuesday and landscaping equipment from that same address a few days earlier.

K-9 Deputies assisted the FCSO PACE Team in the apprehension of these suspects.

Moses is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on an $11,000.00 surety bond. Mack is being held on a $13,500.00 surety bond.
