MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) One man is facing burglary charges after police say he tried to sell stolen goods back to the original owner.
Reports from Myrtle Beach Police show officers responded to a gas station on Todd Street in Myrtle Beach Wednesday where the victim of a previous burglary reported that his stolen items had been recovered.
The victim said the items were stolen on Monday morning from his home, and the suspect had to sell him the stolen items. A witness was able to identify the suspect selling the stolen goods as the same man that reportedly stole them earlier in the week.
The suspect admitted to taking the tools from a storage facility behind the store owner's home.
The report says the value of the stolen items was $5,375.
The suspect, 42-year-old James Alforthy Johnson, was taken into custody Thursday and charged with burglary and receiving stolen goods.
