LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) Three North Carolina men have been arrested in connection to copper theft at a Scotland County plant.
Laurinburg Police officers were called to the old Toastmaster plant located at on Plant Road Laurinburg in reference to an alarm. Officers arrived and noticed the business had been broken into.
With assistance from the K9 unit of the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, officers were able to apprehend three individuals near the scene. Once in police custody, it was discovered that the suspects had more copper wire in their vehicle, which was also seized.
Steven Polson, Dillon Welch, and James Robison, all of Hamlet, NC, are charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of burglar's tools, and conspiracy to commit larceny.
Investigators from Laurinburg PD were also able to link them to a copper theft in Rockingham, NC the same day.
