CONWAY, SC (WMBF) A Loris man was arrested in connection to a drive by shooting that happened at the end of March in Conway. Mickey Gregg Stalvey was charged with attempted murder.
In a police report obtained by WMBF News, on the evening of March 26th, the Horry County Police Department responded to a possible shooting on Haley Brook Drive. Upon arriving on the scene, officers noticed a vehicle parked in front of the victim's home with both rear windows shattered.
The victim stated that he and his wife were sitting in the living room with their children watching television when someone drove by the home and fired what sounded like three or four gunshots. The victim said he heard something come through his living room and looked outside to see a vehicle fleeing the area.
Some bullets were found in the home as well as some damage. The victim told police he had been having issues with his ex-wife and her new husband, Mickey Stalvey, over child custody. Earlier in the day, the victim requested a police escort to Stalvey's home to drop his son off from school because of recent issues. As soon as the victim left, he received a number of threatening and harassing phone calls and text messages from Stalvey. The victim showed those messages to police.
Witnesses stated hearing gunshots and seeing a silver car leaving the scene. Stalvey was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday May 9th and released later that day.
