HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) There have been many bomb threats over the past few months at area schools. Students may consider it a prank to get a break from class, but it is a very serious issue and it has to stop.
Consider This: Although parents, teachers, students and law enforcement say the numerous false alarms don't affect how serious they take each threat, it's no different than the fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf. However, in this case we can't become complacent.
Horry County Police responded quickly to the Carolina Forest threat and charged six people the same day the threat occurred. Hopefully the quick action and serious repercussions for the students will send a message that these pranks are not funny. Parents please speak to your kids about the seriousness of the situation and report any suspicious behavior. You're the first line of defense and we need everyone working together to put a stop to these crimes.
