FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Police in Florence captured a reported burglary suspect just a short time after the crime was reported Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Anson Shells with the Florence Police Department tells WMBF News that a female resident on Franklin Avenue came home around 1:15 p.m. to find a male suspect burglarizing her home.

The suspect was reported to be carrying a weapon, and stole property from the home including a gun, before fleeing the area down Cashua Drive in the victim's SUV.

Trying to make a right turn off of Cashua Drive, the suspect crashed the victim's car into a pole and fled on foot.

Authorities found the man behind Dun-Rite Automotive on Cashua Drive, and is being questioned by police.

The suspect's identity is still unknown.
