MB taxi driver reportedly robbed, kidnapped at gunpoint

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Police in Myrtle Beach are searching for two men they believe forced a cab driver into his vehicle at gunpoint and robbed him.

An incident report obtained by WMBF News says a middle-aged Myrtle Beach taxi driver was walking to his vehicle around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning when he was approached from behind by two men who forced him into his vehicle on Highway 15.

The victim says the suspect wielding the gun got in the passenger seat and held the gun against his side, and his other hand was pressed against the victim's collar.

The other suspect was also crouched in the passenger seat, and asked the victim to empty each compartment of the vehicle of its contents.

Including the money he had in his pockets, the victim was robbed of $185 the report states, before the suspects forced him to drive them around the Socastee area.

When the vehicle approached Burcale Road, the suspects bailed out of the cab toward a home and the victim called police.

The suspects were described as black males in their early twenties wearing dark pants and dark hoodies. The report says the suspects are approximately five feet eight inches to five feet 10 inches tall, and weigh 180 pounds.
