Know the rules of the road when it comes to Mopeds

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Mopeds constantly travel the roads of Myrtle Beach, and while many drivers are within their legal rights while operating the vehicle, the dangers posed to the operators and other drivers are still great.

Moped drivers are permitted to operate the vehicle without it being registered if it travels below 25 mph, but these slow moving vehicles can easily be spotted on Hwy 17 Bypass, Hwy 501 and even SC 31.

What exactly are the rules to owning and operating a moped and as a driver sharing the road with these vehicles, what are your rights when it comes to defensive driving?

Join Anchor Paula Caruso Thursday night at 6 p.m. as she takes an inside look into the rules of Moped ownership, operation, and how those rules are regulated.
