MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Socastee baseball team continues to rack up wins, but still haven't been getting much attention.
A big part of Socastee's success this year is senior Manny Berdayes.
While his stats won't jump out at you right away, Manny is part of a senior class that has set their sights on making 2012 a year to remember and making sure that the best is yet to come.
"Right now the goal is to win one game at a time, don't try to do too much, just play Socastee baseball. The team goal is to try and win the region championship because that's never been done here," Berdayes continued, "Make it real far in playoffs and hopefully we'll do real good in the playoffs and go to states."
It's the little things Manny does that mean the most for the Braves. Like helping guide Socastee's young pitching staff through the season
"With freshmen it's a little bit of a tougher challenge, because they're young and they're nervous. You kind of have to calm them down when they go out there to the mound, it's just a battle out there for them," Berdayes added, "That's what I'm there for, I'm there to calm them down, help them throw strikes and pitch a good baseball game to get us the W."
Manny has plans on playing baseball on the next level, but still hasn't decided where he wants to go.
