CONWAY, SC (WMBF) A Conway teen has been arrested after police located him in a wooded area with several reportedly stolen items from a recent robbery.

A report from the Horry County Police Department explains how an armed man walked into the Wilco gas station located at 1120 Hwy 501 Business in Conway displaying a gun and demanding money.

Witnesses who were pumping gas at the station claim they saw a black male, approximately 6' tall, wearing black jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana over his face enter the store around 10:20 p.m.

One customer told police she was pulling into the store when she saw the suspected robber fleeing toward a wooded area behind the gas station. The store clerks confirmed that a black male came into the store holding a black, short barrel revolver and shouted "give me the money."

Officers on the scene secured the area and in their search arrested 17-year-old Micah Allen Bilton.

Horry County Police Spokesperson Sgt. Robert Kegler says Bilton had several of the reportedly stolen items in his possession when police located him, leading to his arrest, despite the fact he did not fit the suspect description given by witnesses.

Kegler adds the case remains open and detectives are continuing their search for the black male reportedly involved in the crime.

Bilton is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on one charge of armed robbery. Bail has not yet been set.
