Woman reportedly assaulted MB officer during drunken arrest

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A Myrtle Beach woman is facing assault charges for allegedly scratching the officer that placed her in handcuffs Saturday morning.

An arrest report obtained from the Myrtle Beach Police Department states that officers arrived responded to a call concerning trespassing and public intoxication on Dunes Drive in Myrtle Beach around 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Responding officers found 24-year-old Ashley Melissa Long intoxicated, and 'highly disorderly,' according to the report. As the Myrtle Beach police officer placed Long in handcuffs, the report states she scratched their ear and neck.

Long was transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, willfully resisting arrest, trespassing and public intoxication.
