MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A Myrtle Beach carpenter remains behind bars Tuesday charged with prostitution after a traffic stop by the South Carolina Highway Patrol raised suspicions.

An arrest report from Myrtle Beach Police says that 26-year-old Abraham Moreno-Mendez was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution early Monday morning.

The report states that Myrtle Beach Police responded to a traffic stop conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, after a trooper suspected criminal activity.

Mendez admitted to that trooper that he had solicited a prostitute, the report stated, but the victim could not be located.

Booking records at J. Reuben Long Detention Center show that Mendez remains in custody Tuesday with a $469 bond.
