FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man they say assaulted an individual in February and burglarized a home in March.
Captain Michael Nunn, spokesperson for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, tells WMBF News that 30-year-old Demarcus Shantell Dixon of Timmonsville was arrested on Friday and charged with one count of assault and battery and one count of burglary in connection with two separate incidents.
According to investigators on the case, Dixon allegedly beat his victim unconscious on Johnson Road on Feb. 13. His assault and battery charge is a misdemeanor carrying a sentence of up to three years in jail, a $2,500 fine, or both.
On March 16, Dixon allegedly broke into a home on Pine Hurst Road in Timmonsville, startling the residents who woke up to discover him in their bedroom. Dixon's burglary charge is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Dixon remains in the custody of the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
