Women reportedly assaulted by suspect offering her a ride

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Police in Myrtle Beach are searching for two suspects after a female reported being robbed and assaulted by the man who offered her a ride home.

An incident report from Myrtle Beach Police says officers responded to a reported robbery on Osceola Street shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

The female victim told police she has accompanied her husband to a gas station in the area. She continued that they were arguing so she took a walk while her husband entered the store.

The report says the victim's husband had left when she returned from her walk, at which time the victim met a man in the parking lot. That male suspect offered to give her a ride, but she had to walk with him to where his car was located.

The victim says she was walking with the suspect toward his car at an apartment complex on Osceola Street when another man approached her from behind. The two men reportedly assaulted the victim and stole her purse, which contained money, a cell phone, and prescription medication.

The victim then ran down Osceola Street and called police.

The two suspects were described as black males in their late teens or early twenties. One of the men was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black backpack. The other suspect was reportedly wearing a red shirt and jeans.

Any information about these suspects or their whereabouts should be reported to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
