MBPD: Missing Delaware girl found after traffic stop

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Following a traffic stop, police in Myrtle Beach were able to locate a girl missing from Delaware.

Shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, police attempted a traffic stop on a green truck on 26th Avenue South and South Ocean Boulevard, according to an incident report obtained by WMBF News.

The registration provided by the 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle was found to be a match for a minor female missing from Hartley, Delaware.

The driver reported to police that the missing female was in a Myrtle Beach hotel room.

When police arrived at the address given by the driver of the truck, the missing juvenile was found and authorities and family in Delaware were alerted of her location.

Sgt Hardee with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said the missing girl had been in contact with her father, and it was her mother who reported her missing.
