FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Officials have identified the elderly woman fatally injured during an accident on Interstate 95 Tuesday night.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, two Pennsylvania residents were traveling northbound on Interstate 95 shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when the driver lost control of the truck, struck the median and the vehicle overturned into trees.
Both the female driver and the male passengers were wearing seat belts, but the driver did not survive the crash.
Florence Coroner, Bubba Matthews has identified the driver as 75-year-old Betty Sattazahn of Lebanon PA. She died from trauma sustained during the accident, Matthews said.
The driver and passenger were transported to McLeod Hospital following the accident. The condition of the passenger is unknown.
