Sheriff: Another man arrested for using Craigslist to solicit sex from children

Posted: Updated:
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say another Horry County man attempted to use Craigslist.com to solicit sex from children.

Attorney General Alan Wilson said that 26-year-old Ryan Sean Bowlen of Little River, SC was charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, second-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor and dissemination of obscene material to a minor.

According to authorities, Bowlen used Craigslist.com to solicit sex from a person he believed to be a child. Wilson said the "child" who answered Bowlen's ad was an undercover Georgetown sheriff's deputy.

Investigators say Bowlen emailed and text messaged the undercover agent for eight days and arranged to meet the "child" for sex. Wilson said Bowlen was arrested when he arrived for the meet.

Bowlen received a $75,000 bond.

Earlier this month, the sheriff's office also arrested 25-year-old Henry F. Borgeson who is also accused of using Craigslist.com to solicit sex from a person he thought to be a child. The "child" who answered his ad was also an undercover deputy.

Investigators say Borgeson texted and emailed the "child" and offered to pay for sex. Deputies say they set up a location for a meeting and arrested Borgeson.
