HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A woman who claimed she was trying to cut an apple when her husband grabbing the knife from her hands is now facing criminal domestic violence charges in connection with his stabbing.
A police report obtained by WMBF News states that officers with the Horry County Police Department responded to a reported stabbing shortly before midnight on Tuesday on Lyndon Drive in the Little River section of Horry County.
When police arrived they discovered a male victim in the front yard of the home holding a rag soaked in blood around his hand.
The victim claimed that he was arguing with his wife and tried to take a knife from her hand when he was cut.
Entering the house, responding officers noticed that the front door had been damaged and blood was scattered across the patio.
The suspect, 34-year-old Eve Michelle Knowlton Daniels, told police that her husband started arguing with her while she was trying to cut an apple and when he tried to take the knife from her it cut his hand.
The report states that officers searched the home and could not find an apple to validate Daniels' story.
After further questioning of the victim, officers discovered that Daniels was not eating, but had taken the knife to bed with her.
EMS responded and transported to victim to a local hospital.
Daniels was taken into custody Wednesday morning and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. Bond has not been set.
