Mega Millions jackpot grows to $363M

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) According to, the estimated jackpot stands at $363 million, the third largest jackpot in the game's history, after no one won Tuesday night's drawing.

If this jackpot produces a winner, they could walk away with the cash option of $259 million.

This adjusted jackpot indicates that players are excited for a chance to win. Nearly 2.9 million tickets won Mega Millions prizes last Tuesday though there was no jackpot winner.

The odds of winning the jackpot this Tuesday night are about one in 175 million.

Last Tuesday's winning Mega Millions numbers, 1, 4, 6, 11, 14 with a Powerball of 30, produced no jackpot winner but did make 68 players a quarter of a million dollars richer.

One of those 68 players bought their ticket in South Carolina, according to California booked the highest number of $250,000 winners with 21.

A Grand Strand resident may not have taken home the top prize, but that doesn't keep them from dreaming about spending all that cash.

"Go with the cash right up front. In 20 years, you may be dead. So take it right up front," local resident Dick Todd said.

Todd was at a lotto retailer last Tuesday buying another round of tickets and shared his plans for the big money if he won. "I would go on a spending spree. Probably do a lot for charity and different things," said Todd.

The odds of winning last Tuesday's drawing were against most players, about one in 175 million, but that didn't stop Darryl Moody from buying his third pair of tickets this week.

"I'll spend it lightly, slightly, politely, and if possible all nightly," said Moody. "A large chunk of the cut of the money would be dedicated solely to celebrating. I would go out and have the biggest party you can imagine," added Moody.

Mega Millions® tickets are $1 and are available at lottery retailers statewide. South Carolinians wanting to take a chance on Friday night's drawing must purchase tickets by 10 p.m. Friday for the 11 p.m. drawing.

The winner of Friday's drawing will be awarded an estimated $290 million, with a $205 million cash option. Click here for past winning numbers.
