MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A Surfside Beach woman remains incarcerated Monday morning after she reportedly assaulted a police officer over the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

As the St. Patrick's Day festivities were winding down, one Myrtle Beach Police officer responded to the 800 block of North Ocean Boulevard where they discovered a 32-year-old female slurring her speech and stumbling, according to an arrest report from Myrtle Beach Police.

The suspect, Rikkel Karrine Collins of Surfside Beach, was yelling and cursing at the officers that responded and presented a strong smell of alcohol as the officers were attempting to place Collins in handcuffs.

After Collins was arrested and transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail Sunday morning, she reportedly spit on one of the police officers.

Collins was transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Sunday afternoon. Booking records reveals that Collins is charged with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, simple possession of marijuana and public disorderly/public intoxication. Bond has been set at $2,132.
