DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) A suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery and kidnapping in Darlington County last week was apprehended by the US Marshals Service in Murrells Inlet Tuesday morning.

Captain Andy Locklair, spokesperson for the Darlington County Sheriff's Office, said their office was searching for 36-year-old Michael Hickman in connection with an armed robbery and kidnapping that occurred off of West McIver Road in Darlington on March 16.

Locklair said that Hickman is an acquaintance of a female victim, who claims that Hickman was carrying a knife when he robbed her and forced her to drive him to another location before letting her go.

Hickman is charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and petit larceny.
