Armed robbery suspect pleads guilty to all charges

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A man suspected of robbing a Garden City Walgreens at gunpoint and attempting to shot police officers pled guilty in court on Monday.

A press release from the Horry County Solicitor's Office states that Don Odell Kinley, Jr. pled guilty to armed robbery and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon on Monday in a court before Judge Edward B Cottingham.

Kinley is sentenced to 15 years in prison with no parole on the armed robbery charge and two years consecutive on the resisting arrest charge for an incident at the Walgreens in Garden City in August 2011.

The press release states that Kinley pointed a gun at a pharmacy employee and took several prescription pill bottles by force. He was followed from the store by customers, customers who aided police in located him before his arrest.

Kinley led police on a short foot chase and struggled with officers before he was detained, the release said. He also tried to fire his gun at officers.
