MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) If you haven't visited the downtown area of Myrtle Beach recently you should take the time to check it out.
Consider This: The transformation of the downtown area got a shot in the arm with the opening of the boardwalk in 2010 and the Myrtle Beach Sky Wheel last summer. Now more and more businesses are investing in a part of town that had been become neglected and abandoned.
This Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, the streets of downtown Myrtle Beach will be filled with revelers. If this event continues to grow it could become the annual launch for the spring season.
The activities, new development and renovations are what city leaders hoped for when they agreed to build the boardwalk. It's nice to see that $6,000,000 bet is beginning to pay off.
