No students injured in Florence Co. bus crash

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) No students were injured after a SUV slammed into the back of a school bus in Florence County Thursday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Brent Kelly, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said the collision occurred on South Borough Road around 4 p.m. when a 2008 Dodge SUV hit the back of a school bus. Kelly said the school bus had just begun to move after stopping to let students off.

None of the 19 West Florence High School students and the driver on the bus were hurt in the collision. The driver of the SUV, however, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Kelly said the driver of the SUV will face a charge of driving too fast for conditions.
