MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A Marlboro County man facing a sex crime charge in the death of his girlfriend's daughter months after he was arrested for the little girl's murder has waived his right to bond hearing.

According to Marlboro County Solicitor Will Rogers, Mike Huckabee, Jr., is facing a charge of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree against Edna Hunt, who just three-years-old when she was killed in October. Rogers said investigators felt evidence was strong enough for the charge and a grand jury agreed.

The Marlboro County Solicitor's Office said Judge Steven John presided over an arraignment hearing for Huckabee's criminal sexual conduct charge Thursday. At the arraignment hearing Huckabee waived his right to a bond hearing in Marlboro County Circuit Court.

Both Huckabee and Edna's mother, Atelia Hunt, are already charged with homicide by child abuse and inflicting great bodily injury on a child. Edna was taken to a hospital and died and was said to have burns in her genital area as well as other injuries consistent with abuse.

The Marlboro County Coroner's Office said Edna died as a result of neglect and abuse.

A judge denied bond for the pair on those charges. It remains unknown at this time when Huckabee will be arraigned on the new charge.
