GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) Deputies arrested a 30-year-old man in Greenville County on child pornography charges last Thursday following an investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff's "computer crime's office".

Billy Jo Lynch, of the Greer community, is charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and two counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor.

Sheriff Lane Cribb has designated the new office and assigned an investigator to the nationally-certified program designed to protect children from online sexual predators.

He said, "This is the first of what we hope to be many. We are not going to sit back and do nothing while persons prey on the children of Georgetown County."

Lynch is being held in the Georgetown County Detention Center.  The Greenville County Sheriff's Office assisted with his arrest.

Summer hasn't even technically started, yet the summer-like heat and humidity will continue to reach uncomfortable levels the next few days. We start off this morning with mugginess in the air. High temperatures reach near 87 along the Grand Strand but easily make it into the low 90s inland. The heat index will feel like 95 to 100 along the coast, but more like 102 to 105 inland.
