HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Horry County Police have arrested a second suspect in a deadly shooting at a Longs club in January.
Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, said officers responded to the Snake Pit Club located on Dogwood Avenue around 5 a.m. Jan. 28. There, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was transported to a local hospital and remained in critical condition until Feb. 16, when he passed away from his injuries, Kegler said.
Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard with the Horry County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 28-year-old Ralph Courtney Padgette. Padgette died of injuries related to the gunshot wound around 11:17 a.m.
Through further investigation, detectives were able to identify their first suspect as an accessory after the shooting. Bryan Oteius Clarida, 26, of Longs was arrested last month and now faces a charge of accessory after the fact of murder.
A second suspect, 37-year-old Lamanski Antonious Johnson, was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting. Johnson is charged with murder, and remains incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
According to the warrant issued for Johnson's arrest, he shot the victim several times, and the gunshot wound to the victim's side caused his death.
