MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Severe Weather Awareness Week will take place March 4 – 10 throughout South Carolina, and the WMBF Storm Team has all the tools you need to prepare.
The South Carolina Emergency Management Division said it will jointly sponsor the week with the National Weather Service in an effort to remind the public about the hazards that come with severe weather.
The WMBF Storm Team has a variety of tools to help you prepare in the event of severe weather such as storms, tornadoes, flash flooding and hurricanes.
From apps on your smartphone to weather radios, the team is ready to help you with everything you need should severe weather sweep through the area. The Storm Team also has a barrage of tools on WMBFNews.com, including an interactive radar and current weather conditions.
Additionally, an annual statewide tornado drill will take place March 6 at 9 a.m. All public schools, state and local emergency management, the South Carolina Broadcasters Association and several others will participate.
