CONWAY, SC (WMBF) A man accused of shooting another because he wouldn't fight Sunday morning has turned himself in, according to police.

Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for the Conway Police Department, said Wednesday officers were searching for Franciosx Edriqou Shepard, 21, of Conway on charges of attempted murder and discharging a firearm in to a dwelling.

Just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to a home along Woodward Drive in reference to a shooting.  Once there, they discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the thigh being treated at Conway Medical Center.

The victim told officers that they argued with Shepard on the phone before he came to the home looking for a fight. When the victim refused to go outside and fight Shepard, the victim said Shepard pulled out a handgun and fired twice, hitting the victim once.

Shepard then reportedly fled in an unknown direction as the victim was transported to the hospital by a friend.

Thursday afternoon, Hipp said Shepard turned himself into police earlier in the day. He has been transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and will have a bond hearing on Friday, Hipp added.
