PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) Officer with Pawley's Island Police are searching for two male
suspects that fled from police following chase that began when police
responded to a reported kidnapping call.
Officers responded to
Myrtle Avenue in Pawleys Island around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning to a
reported domestic dispute called in by witness. When officers arrived, there was no one in
the home.
Before officers left the scene, the witness that had
called police drove up and reported that she had been on the phone with
her friend, the female victim, when she heard her friend arguing with
her son, the male victim. She also reported hearing the son's friends
yelling and cursing at both the female victim and her son and telling
them to get in their vehicle.
The witness claimed in the incident report that her friend screamed, "they have gun."
Officers
called the male victim's cell phone and were able to find the victims
and suspects at the Walmart in Georgetown. The female victim answered
the phone as though she were talking to her sister.
When Pawley's
Island Police, assisted by Georgetown City and Georgetown County Police,
arrived in the Walmart parking lot, the suspects fled and a chase
ensued.
The suspects fled along North Frasier Street where the suspects' vehicle crashed into a home.
The two suspects, described as black males in their late teens, fled on foot.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
