MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The first runner has crossed the finish line of the Myrtle Beach Marathon to complete the 26.2 mile run in just under two and a half hours, and unofficially set a new course record.
The first place runner has unofficially set a new record for the race after completing the 15th Annual Myrtle Beach Marathon Saturday morning.
Stuart Moran completed the race with an unofficial time of 2 hours 26 minutes 25 seconds. Moran came from Arden, NC to run in Saturday's marathon and beat the current marathon record set four years ago by nearly two minutes.
The current record was set by runner Garick Hill of Winston Salem, NC in 2008. Hill's time was 2 hours 28 minutes 43 seconds.
The first female runner to finish, Jennifer Adams, completed the race with an unofficial time of 2 hours 53 minutes 7 seconds. She finished 14 overall.
For the half marathon, it would be UNC Pembroke student Pardon Ndhlovu who would finish first with a time of 1 hour 7 minutes 55 seconds. The first female finisher, Alana Hadley, finished with a time of 1 hour 16 minutes 41 seconds.
