Everyone has a story about how they got started running and their running motivation. Running has many physical, emotional and mental benefits that can urge you to lace up your running shoes.
The first time I ran a mile was my freshman year of college. I was a new girl in a new town, a beautiful town, and I couldn't think of a better way to greet my new surroundings than taking a jog across the cobblestones of peninsular Charleston as I made my way down to the Battery.
It was such a refreshing end to my long day of studying that I did it again the next day, and every day for the next six years.
I kept running because my friends encouraged me to keep up the habit, the same friends I run for now.
So why do you run? Some get into running for the health benefits, and hope to lose weight. Some run for a good cause.
