HORRY COUNTy, SC (WMBF) After hours of searching for two suspects that fled from police after a traffic stop, Horry County Police have called off the manhunt outside of Conway.
Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesperson for Horry County Police Department, told WMBF News that police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Conway along 701 North near Mount Pisgah Cemetery Road. After a short chase, the two black male suspects that occupied that vehicle fled on foot.
One of those suspects was carrying a handgun, Kegler said.
A perimeter had been set up in the area and a blood hound unit was on scene to assist in the search for those suspects. Officers on scene told WMBF News that they haven't gotten a trace of those suspects.
Kegler added that the traffic stop was initiated for speeding, and the identities of the two suspects are unknown at this time.
