MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A Myrtle Beach woman has been arrested for stealing cable after a neighbor reportedly spotted her disconnecting cable lines on Saturday.
According to a police report obtained by WMBF News, officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department responded to the 500 block of Oak Forest Lane in reference to the theft of cable service. A complainant told officers her cable stopped working earlier that day.
When she looked outside, she said she saw her neighbor, Amanda Sarah Minion, 32, connecting her own cable wire to the complainant's cable box, something that has been an ongoing problem.
The complainant told police technicians from Time Warner Cable were there Friday to disconnect an illegal connection made by Minion and Minion had been hooking up her cable service illegally for some time.
Officers spoke with Time Warner Cable, who informed them Minion did not have service with them, and had a technician respond to the scene to confirm the connection was illegal, the report said.
The technician then disconnected the illegal service and reconnected the complainant's service.
Wednesday, officers served an arrest warrant on Minion for unauthorized connection or use of a device to cable television system.
