HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) After more than four months on the lam, bloodhounds with the Horry County Police Department have captured an attempted murder suspect.

Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, said officers responded to a local hospital on Sept. 25 and located a gunshot victim. According to police, the victim was shot in the upper thigh and hit in the head with a pistol during a confrontation with Kendrick Walter Dorell Green, 27, of Myrtle Beach along Racepath Street.

Attempts to locate Green were unsuccessful until December, when Green was spotted at the Waccamaw Community Hospital. Georgetown County deputies tried to serve the warrant on Green, however, he was able to flee the scene.

Early Thursday morning, Horry County officers responded to Secrets Nightclub after someone spotted Green. When they arrived, Green allegedly fled once more on foot and into a wooded area off Chestnut Road.

Kegler said officers then set up a perimeter and used the bloodhound tracking team to try to find Green. He was located and arrested only 10 minutes later.

Green has been charged with attempted murder and remains incarcerated at this time.
